Advanced Drama Honors 2023
Dear Reader,
My name is Arianna Trette, although most know me as Ari. I have been acting in the San Diego area since I was five years old, and I am a senior at San Dieguito High School Academy (SDA). I have been participating in the SDA Theatre program since my freshman year, and have loved every minute! I am not only an actor, but also a technician. I have stage-managed three shows outside of SDA and was the Sound Designer for the Advanced Drama Honor’s recent production of Emma.
I had created an electronic portfolio documenting my theatrical experience several years ago, but I had never created one dedicated to SDA Theatre. Instead of starting from scratch, I thought this would be a great opportunity to add to my existing site and make some updates. If you go through my entire site you will find production photos from many different shows and videos. In this portion of my electronic portfolio, I dive deep into my time in the Advanced Drama Honors class. I was reluctant to make changes to my portfolio, but as I have worked on it, I have realized that it’s an incredible way to reflect on my time in the SDA Theatre department and the tremendous amount of growth I have had. Over the past year, I have found that what I love about theatre is the joy it brings me. Due to this, I decided to “just have fun” with every role and opportunity I was given throughout the Advanced Drama Honors class. While getting cast as Mrs. Elton in Emma was not my first choice for a role, I had enormous amounts of fun with it! I loved experimenting with different bold choices to make and creating such a big character. When Miss Electricity rolled around, I was elated to play 10-year-old Violet and dive into her character development. I absolutely love the amount of fun I have when performing, and this class just reinforced my love!
I appreciate the opportunity to spend time creating this portfolio, and I know that it will continue to be beneficial as I expand my theatrical experience outside of SDA. I graduate this year, and I am hoping to attend college and major in theatre. I am hoping for a hands-on program that helps me become a well-rounded actor who is skilled in multiple different aspects of theatre. Thank you for taking the time to look at my electronic portfolio, and I hope you enjoy it.
Sincerely,
Arianna (Ari) Trette
